Cumaná cumple 509 años de lucha
Cumaná, Sucre, 27 de noviembre de 2024.- A las 12:01 minutos de la madrugada se sintió la algarabía en la ciudad que vio nacer al Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre. La ciudad de Cumaná comenzaba la celebración de sus 509 años de fundada, junto a un pueblo lleno de amor y que espera fortalecer aún más esa lucha por tener a la ciudad más hermosa y próspera de Venezuela… esa es una tarea de sus autoridades junto a su pueblo.
La alcaldía de Cumaná decidió decretar este miércoles como día de júbilo no laborable y por ello el Alcalde Luis Javier Sifontes firmó el decreto municipal y exhortó a los habitantes cumaneses a unirse a las actividades que se derivarán de esta importante celebración.
Ya desde bien temprano la Iglesia de Santa Inés fue el escenario donde se congregó la feligresía para honrar a Cumaná con una misa en su honor y con una buena asistencia de personas quienes cantaron el cumpleaños al finalizar la misa.
El gobernador de la entidad, Gilberto Pinto, también saludó esta importante efeméride, afirmando que continuarán esa lucha por una mejor ciudad y territorio sucrense junto al esfuerzo de los orientales. Por su parte la vicepresidencia de la república, recordó a Cumaná con un mensaje en las redes sociales: «El 27 de noviembre de 1515, Fray Pedro de Córdoba, fundó la ciudad de Cumaná, capital del estado Sucre, ubicada en el oriente del país. Cumaná, llamada como la primogénita del continente americano, fue una de las que más batalló al mando de sus pobladores Los Cumanagotos contra el imperio español».
Por último, para el transcurso del día hay diversas actividades programadas, entre conciertos y actividades culturales, el cumpleaños feliz estará cantado a viva voz junto a 509 tortas preparadas para la fecha.
